Local wildlife management company is looking for a Communications Coordinator Intern. Intern will serve as assistant to the Marketing Director. Duties will include writing blogs and press releases, and putting together three email newsletters. Internship is paid and will be approximately 16-20 hours per week.
Excellent writing skills, ability to follow a format, and two years of college are required. Knowledge of U.S. wildlife, SEO keywords, and active participation in PRSSA or related group is a plus. Duties can be done from home or dorm. Must have reliable access to Microsoft Office and the Internet. Preference will be given to those able to attend weekly meetings on Roxalana Road in Dunbar.

Objectives
· To promote the West Virginia Power through the Power Street Team.
· To visit various schools, community events and locations throughout the surrounding area promoting
the Power’s exciting new programs.
· Work closely with the Street Team/Event Coordinator and the Assistant General Manager of Marketing to coordinate community appearances with the Street Team, Mascot, and Players.
· Responsible for contacting schools, day cares, community events, etc. to schedule Street Team appearances.
· To act as the emcee at various Street Team appearances.
· To learn, understand, and perform all tasks surrounding the Power Street Team efforts.
· Responsibilities require the use of equipment at an offsite location.
· Makes phone calls, as requested.
· Must be willing to work long hours.
· Must be willing to cooperate and work well with all other areas of organization.
· Must be willing to work all positions or any other task when asked by any full-time staff member.
· Must be responsible for all equipment when in use.
· Knowledge of baseball a plus.
· An energetic personality is a must.

This internship offers a student a unique opportunity for PR, nonprofit and sole proprietor experience. it will also give a student consistent exposure to PRSA-WV Chapter members, many of whom have hiring responsibilities. In addition, they could do much of the work from dorm/home.

Scope of work - Homestead Communications:
Seeking intern taking “for credit” class for sole practice focusing on public relations and non-profit association management.
Intern must possess strong writing skills and familiarity with InDesign, Contribute, Word and Microsoft Access.
After initial orientation, much of the work can be done from dorm/home, with outcomes submitted electronically.
Agency is responsible for creating monthly newsletters for two clients, one four pages, one 20 pages, plus 8-12-page quarterly newsletter for each of two other clients.
WebWeb site maintenance is also needed for a number of clients on a daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly basis across different platforms. On proof of expertise, intern would be responsible for much of this work.
Additional work may cover a variety of areas, all currently being done by agency owner.
Presence in Charleston would be required once a month for attendance at PRSA-WV Chapter meeting, cost paid by agency owner.
Must have own transportation, computer/internet capabilities and flexible schedule.
